 Was in den 80er Jahren nur als Fernsehkabel in der Erde vergraben worden ist, wird heute, dank großer Investitionen der drei großen Kabelanbieter (Kabel BW, Kabel Deutschland und Unitymedia) auch zum Telefonieren und Surfen im Internet genutzt. Datengeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 120 Mbit/s sind heute (Stand Jan. 2010) schon möglich. Im Gegensatz zum DSL wird bei Kabel DSL eine Multimedia-Dose von einem Techniker in der Wohnung eingebaut. Mit dieser Kabel DSL Multimedia-Dose werden die Signale für Fernsehen, Telefonieren, Surfen und auch Radio übertragen. Ein Kabelmodem rundet das Hardware-Paket ab. Auf W-LAN braucht auch bei Kabel DSL nicht zu verzichtet werden. Diese werden auch von den Kabelanbietern bereits ab 0,- Euro bereitgestellt. |
